Photo 1 - Reasons to do things right the first time #325… This neck was originally “finished” at the same time as the telecaster I made mention of in a previous post -

The neck was given pretty much the same poor treatment as the guitar and the result was not flattering. I had given it a really rough stain job to give a vintage tint and then rushed the wet sanding and buffing process, it wasn’t a great time okay. What’s less than a great time is sanding back all of the previous work. But again, it’s a lesson I’m somewhat okay with learning. BTW this is the neck I reshaped and posted about yesterday.

Photo 2 - Well it’s the telecaster being brought back from the dead! The photo doesn’t do the colour justice but it is in fact pretty close to a Daphne Blue - I’m going super vintage/rustic on this one now. Once the colour coat has dried out I’m going to be treating it to a bit of the old “Road Worn” treatment, then shooting a top coat, I’ve picked up a pretty sweet little decal for it too to go underneath the clear coat. And if the tone warrants it, I might just splash out on a new bigsby for it. I know some people are very against ageing a guitar, but as this is going to probably end up being my personal guitar and not for sale. I don’t really care, Imma do what I want.

Later gang!
