Bootstang - Hang Me Out To Dryyyyyyyyy. 

Sorry for the fairly average picture quality, this time I wasn’t just being lazy, I for the life of me cannot find my camera charger and all I have to take photo’s with is the oldest of mobile phones sold by a fruit company. So old it requires film… Okay no that was just the worst, sorry again you guys. 

Here is the Bootstang in all of it’s glory. I’ve almost finish the clear coats in this picture, I’m going to give it one more nights rest and then I’ll hit it with maybe 2 or 3 more passes tomorrow and then let it be. FOR 30 AGONISING DAYS. It’s been a challenge to actually get the spray patterns consistent as, I don’t have a spray booth, nor anywhere indoors to do this so I’ve been waiting for lulls in the wind to go at it. I’d never used this brand of rattle can either and have only just now found the perfect angle and distance to paint at.

If you guys are thinking of spraying a guitar with rattle cans even though it can be a costly exercise - take some scrap timber and learn the way the paint is deployed and atomises on the surface, keep trying things until you can control it to the point that creating a slight overlap with each pass is possible, and that surface coverage is even.

Oh BTW - Just before anyone gets all fancy with their eyes and points out that it looks like I have used some power tools here, you and your fancy eyes :)  I did, I caved, I could not for the life of me figure out how to drill the holes properly for the bridge poles without an electrical hand drill, the same goes for the connection holes that you can’t really see between the bridge pickups and the ground wire hole from control cavity to bridge plate. I really didn’t want to but I had to face the fact that I had no idea how else to do it.
