Bootstang! I’m at the stage of the build now where if anything really needs to be corrected it must be done soon before the paint is applied (you use your fingers for that right, just smear it on?). So I decided to whack a neck on it, string it up and roughly check the intonation, string alignment etc. I was mentally prepared for the worst, and was pleasantly surprised to find, that everything lined up!

It’s got a sound at the moment (without anything taking up space in the cavities, more like a Les Paul played unplugged… I guess, I think? I don’t know, it’s just very plunky in a way, not a bad way, it sounds quite rich in tone, but I’m a believer in the school of thought that it’s the pickups that really define a solid body.

Tomorrow, double checking everything and the tidying up, sanding and sealing begins!
