Sorry gang, but it looks like the only thing I can point my camera towards at the moment is the ever changing boostang. I spent some very sleep deprived hours today going over the outline with a combination of rasps and sandpaper to even out some of my more gung-ho efforts with a hand saw. It’s close, but the hardest part is getting the edges to be perfectly flat, as in no high point towards either the top or bottom of the body.

I decided to give it a rest and focus on other areas for a while. As I’ve learnt from experience, over doing one task can lead to frustration, which then leads to mistakes, which leads to firewood.

So I moved on to shaping the contours on the back, it might look like a dramatic curve, and it is, but with the odd body shape, this feels pretty good so far and I’m just a huge sucker for curves and lines blending wonderfully in timber.

So the easy parts are mostly out of the way, and I’m not going to lie to you, cutting the neck pocket is somewhat daunting when you have no idea yet how you will do it without a router. Next post on this guitar will either be a great triumph, or a photo of the thing in a bonfire.
