Latest build by Black Cat Bone Guitars - Yes I do in fact build things, not just collect things to fix up (sometimes). My latest Cigar Box Guitar is a bit of a departure from many of my previous builds, for starters it is not a through neck design and the tailpiece/bridge is a composite of the Jarrah string through you can see, anchored down to a centre block inside the box. The neck is a two piece also, this time making use of Queensland Maple for the fingerboard with Tasmanian Snakewood underneath. Having the extended headstock proved to be a bit of a challenge regarding string tension, there was just no way the strings would sit in the saddles of the bone nut so I had to improvise some string retainers. I decided to gussy this one up with abalone inlays, a chrome sinkhole strainer sound hole cover, some chrome on the headstock and a brass bar under the last fret, I’m a little obsessed with brass for some reason at the moment so, expect to see a lot more of it.

How does it sound? Well I’ll get around to making a audi demo soon, but to keep things simple for now, it’s a very well balanced sounding guitar, acoustically it’s not got too much boom but plugged in and I think it sounds great, and if I can get my hands on more of those gold foil acoustic pickups i will be using them regularly.

SOLD.
