Ah, the old double nail in the fretboard for no apparent reason trick. When breaking this old Coronet short scale bass down to evaluate what needs doing (everything), I almost fully expected the nails to be driven into the neck pocket, strangely that’s not the case, and there’s no lifting or seam separation of the fretboard, so I’m totally stumped.
