Fun time goofball experiment, completed. As mentioned in a previous post, this was a very busted Ibanez RG140, that I picked up from a pawn shop. Now it’s, ah, well, I’m not sure what you’d call it? It’s certainly fun to play, and with the mini humbucker and super hot P90, it’s a pretty wild sounding little thing. I had to ditch the original neck in favour of a Strat replacement, a swap that was for the better I’d say. Nothing against the original necks, I loved the jumbo frets, I just wasn’t super keen on the broken truss rod. I managed to take a tracing of the original scratchplate but it was super warped, so I just shaped it to what would fit. VERY simple controls, with master volume, mini toggle and a top mounted jack, that’s all, and that’s all I felt it needed. I’m going to sell this one at a fairly daft/cheapish price as it should be out there getting played!
