Rainy day off shenanigans with what was an Ibanez RG140 (‘87 Korean factory). Yet another of my previously on hold projects, I picked this up in its original and completely broken condition from a pawn shop, ages ago with no idea what I wanted to do with it. A good hunt through the parts drawer recently, and a rather daft/excellent experiment is underway with a P90 and a mini humbucker, and a raft of other modifications… For years it’s been one of my favourite things, to take what’s basically landfill and turn it into something completely unique and fun to play. These experiments are not meant to be “perfect” but as long as it plays damn well, sounds great, and helps someone write some jams, my job is done.
